I am writing today to express my appreciation of your being an original cosponsor of the newly reintroduced H.R. 192 microenterprise bill. A few years ago I visited El Salvador, where I had a chance to see first hand the difference microcredit has made to people's lives. Not only was it providing people with an opportunity to help themselves, but it also had a tremendous impact through increased self-esteem and providing economic empowerment to women.
