I am a member of the San Jose RESULTS group, and I have a deep personal commitment to the relief of poverty throughout the world. I have taken a particular interest in public health, and especially the AIDS pandemic.

I wish to express my appreciation of your November 26, 2002 letter to Ambassador Zoellick, requesting the U.S. negotiate a broad based implementation of the Doha declaration, which establishes the primacy of public health relative to patents.
